How far would you go to make the right impression?
Anna Day has waited a long time to fall in love, and now that she has she
doesn’t intend to let the small matter of Charlie’s mother stand in her way.
Meredith Grainger is well bred, highly cultured and impossible to impress.
So far, Anna hasn’t even been allowed to meet her.
Then Charlie leaves the country on business and Anna sees her chance: she
decides to launch a secret charm offensive and win Meredith over once and
for all. But to do so she must reinvent herself from ‘one of the boys’ in an
office full of foul-mouthed sales reps into a demure butter-wouldn’t-melt new
model. Garden parties, Sunday tennis, little vintage-style dresses from Laura
Ashley – it all seems so innocent compared with the low cunning she’s used
to at work.
Until, that is, she decides to join Meredith and her friends on their Art Explorers’
trip to Andalucia. There, in the charged, magical atmosphere of the Alhambra,
Anna begins to wonder if she might not be a little out
of her depth after all…
