The Second Husband is Louise’s fifth novel and follows the bestselling Since I Don’t Have You. Both are published by Sphere.

Louise wrote her first novel, Chopping and Changing, at the age of twelve,
a rip-roaring page-turner about girls, boys and school. The manuscript
is now missing.

After reading English at University College London, she spent her twenties
in a series of jobs in magazine and book publishing, including a six-year
stretch editing art history books for Dorling Kindersley. She then moved
into new media, working as a copywriter for leading London agency AKQA.
It was while thinking of something new to say about sausages for a big
supermarket client that she handed in her notice, booked a flight to Sicily,
and started writing her first novel. Prickly Heat was published in 2004,
followed by Sisters Avenue in 2005 and the bestselling comedy The Double Life of Anna Day in 2006.

She is currently hard at work on her next novel, to be published by Sphere in 2009.
